The previous version, V80R1.0, was launched onto the market when FORAN celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. A year later, version V80R2.0 has added significant advantages such as a new geometric core and the ability to manage series of ships, in addition to other improvements in all of the different disciplines.New functionalities have also been added for designing offshore objects and structures, while the specific tools Asian shipyards require to meet their particular needs have been further developed.Also worthy of mention is FORAN’s integration with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, which was already quite advanced and but is nevertheless perfected in each version of FORAN. Of particular note in this version is the ability to manage new line entities, together with the possibility of alternatively viewing material lists, and a new utility for configuring data modeling maps with the goal of optimizing configuration tasks. This functionality now includes multiple selections, a directory and file selector, and the ability to drag and drop.
